Thurlton is a small village in South Norfolk, situated between Norwich and Lowestoft, on the edge of the Broadland Marshes.
A village with a population of around 850 people, the surrounding areas are mainly agricultural as it would have done since its existence.

All Saints Church is unusual in that it is partly thatched and dates back to Norman times, with later additions added in the 15th Century. However, the village is known for the old corn mill that sits within the centre of the village and is known locally as Great Goliath. Thurlton is lucky to have a community shop, post office and village hall which is home to many village organisations, including the WI and Horticultural Club.
Originally Thurlton had two public houses but only one still remains, The Queens Head which is the heart of the village and a perfect place for a pint and some food throughout the week. With Beccles only five miles away, you have easy access to all the restaurants and pubs Beccles has to offer. Loddon and Reedham also offer a variety of food choices. The Duke’s Head at Somerleyton is a must if you enjoy food, especially for Sunday lunch, you won’t be disappointed. If fish and chips are your thing, the Suffolk coast is less than 15 miles away.
Thurlton sits just off the A143, the main road between Bury St Edmunds and Great Yarmouth, and allows easy access to the coast. To the South west also sits the A146, which is the main road to Norwich, so you can be in the city centre in about 30 mins. Thurlton is lucky to still have a primary school within the village, but there are also two more primary schools within three miles. The main high school is in the nearby town of Loddon, and there are also a number of independent schools within five miles, including Langley School.
