Durrants is to auction a unique collection of taxidermy, pictures and paintings from the late Christopher Marler, a renowned farmer and aviculturist.
The sale, held in conjunction with Fabian R Eagle Auctioneers on 25th January, will feature items from a vast collection of taxidermy including flamingos, pelicans, cranes, a wide variety of ducks and geese, snowy owl and bald eagle as well as red deer trophy heads, antelope and bison heads.
The paintings and prints are all wildfowl or animals, with artists including Sir Peter Scott, Philip Rickman, Trevor Boyer, Robert Bateman, Richard Robjent, Carl Donner, Diane Rosher, Carolyn Alexander, Archibald Thorburn and Hilary Burn. In addition there are also a considerable number of photographs that were taken by Christopher on his trips around the world which will be sold in suitable lots.
The catalogue for this sale will be available by Friday 10th January. The auction will take place at Durrants Auction Rooms in Beccles on Saturday 25th January from 10am.
