Covid-19 Guide to Selling

It's been an exceptionally difficult time for people selling their homes, and we'd like to thank you for your patience during this time.

Since the government announced their plans to ease the restrictions on the property market, we have been putting procedures in place to ensure that when we open our offices up again, it will be done so safely.

The health and safety of our staff and clients is our absolute priority, and whilst we are busily moving ahead once more, we can only do so with strict measures in place.

Our teams have been working remotely behind the scenes to ensure your property has been visible to potential buyers throughout lockdown, hoping to continue generating interest ready for when restrictions would be eased.

Now we have arrived where we are able to get things (and you!) moving again, and begin to hold viewings.  As sellers, we do ask that when viewings are held at your property, you follow a set of guidelines.  A summary of these are:

  • Our staff will ask you prior to arranging an appointment whether you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid–19 or are self-isolating.  If you or anyone in your household, is experiencing symptoms we will not be able to carry out the appointment.  Viewers will also be asked the above prior to arranging a viewing.
  • Durrants will ask you to ensure all surfaces, such as door handles, are cleaned with standard household cleaning products and towels disposed of safely or washed as appropriate, prior to and post, the appointment.
  • Durrants will ask you to open all internal doors and cupboards prior to the appointment.
  • Durrants will ask where possible if you can vacate the property for the viewing and if not possible, keep a minimum two metre distance from both Durrants staff and viewers.
  • Durrants staff will attend the viewing wearing PPE.
  • We will aim for all viewings to take no longer than 20 minutes to minimise risk.
  • Durrants will have sent out guidance prior to the appointment to the viewers to ask them to:
    - Wear PPE to the viewing
    - Attend the viewing with the minimum amount of people possible
    - Not touch any surfaces in the property
    - To follow social distancing guidelines throughout the appointment.
  •

These guidelines are to protect you, the viewers, and our staff.  These viewings can only be carried out if we all work together to safeguard one another.

If you need to discuss any concerns or queries in the meantime, then please do not hesitate to give us a call.  We are here to help.
