Fressingfield Area Guide
Fressingfield is a small village with a population of just over 1,000 residents and sits about 12 miles east of Diss and four miles from Harleston.
The village is thought of have originally existed due to the Roman road travelling from Pulham St Mary to Peasenhall which passes right through the village.
Fressingfield is lucky to boast a number of amenities, including two village shops, a medical centre, three churches and two pubs, including the widely known Fox and Goose, which is definitely worth a visit and is situated in the old Guild Hall built in 1509.
There are also a number of organisations within the village including an Art Club, Local History Club, WI as well as a number of sporting clubs. You will certainly be able to keep yourself busy within the village! Harleston, Diss and Halesworth all feature the main supermarkets and all have a range of other shops to cater for all needs.
Fressingfield also has a primary school within the village, with Stradbroke primary also within three miles. Stradbroke High School is the closest High School. The primary school also boasts a nursery unit and serves about 130 children as well as a number of groups within the village including toddler groups, brownies, cubs and scouts.
