Durrants is a long established independent firm of Estate Agents, Chartered Surveyors, Auctioneers, & Property Management Consultants established in 1853. We operate from five offices in Norfolk & Suffolk and have representation in London. We also have our own dedicated Auction Rooms in Beccles. Detailed below are our current available positions.
We require an additional qualified senior planner to join our Building Consultancy team, based at Diss. The role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the developing team within our long established business.
Working as a key team member within the Building Consultancy Department (also encompassing Chartered Building Surveyors, Architect and Architectural Technologists) you will be the primary point of contact for planning knowledge and advice on a range of projects within the department but also the wider company community. The Department is on a pathway of growth with this role being integral to that growth.
At present, Durrants Building Consultancy Department is working on a number of projects that include residential development schemes ranging from 5 – 60 dwellings; agricultural to residential change of use; community schemes; works to Grade I and II listed buildings; and planning applications to increase asset value. We are looking to move into more public sector work and have submitted a number of PQQ’s in response to this.
Key role responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Compiling planning applications and appeals for varying schemes including residential, change of use, and listed buildings
- Providing comprehensive planning advice to the department and other internal departments and external clients
- Delivering Design & Access statements, Planning Assessments and Feasibility Studies
- Representing clients at committee and enquiries
Who we are looking for:
Suitable candidates will be MRTPI-accredited, with knowledge and experience of construction, predominantly in the private sector. Candidates should also be prepared to be flexible and be able to “go the extra mile” to deliver projects in a timely manner.
You will need to be able to work independently and within a team, be driven and motivated, be an excellent communicator (both written and verbal), and feel comfortable providing comprehensive planning knowledge to clients, colleagues and a range of key stakeholders.
Salary Band £30,000 to £40,000.
